With the monsoon season here and the commercial fishing ban in place, the time anglers have been waiting for has arrived. The fish are coming closer to the shores and making their way into rivers and other interior water bodies. This makes for some excellent fishing days.

As the weather and seasons change, the conditions for fishing also change, the river gets muddy and visibility becomes poor, so it is important to ensure you have the right gear for the occasion.

Here are some of  the best fishing lures in Goa that you should try this monsoon season:

Strike Pro Shrimp:

A realistic Shrimp/ Prawn imitation that has been designed to suspend at 2ft. This lure can be used in shallow rivers and mangroves to target smaller size fish that eat shrimp. Shrimp soft bait lures work well in Goa under the right fishing conditions.

Tenki 145mm:

Use lures depending on lighting conditions. Light affects the visibility of your lure underwater. Darker coloured lures are more visible the deeper they go. Golden lures shine brightly if it’s sunny but may not shine in darker conditions. This is why you need a wide range of lures depending on the time of day, type of fish and area you are finishing. The weather is unpredictable during the monsoons, and so we recommend having a few darker or fluorescent coloured lures to use during the monsoons.
